Our Planners and Designers were appointed by the Communauté of Nice, to produce a proposal for one of the first French eco community’s planned for a location on the côte D’Azur in the South of France.

This project will form the Communauté’s response to the national ‘Ville Durable’ scheme, an imitative being promoted by the French ministry of Ecology, Energy & Sustainable Development that will see communities throughout France submit proposals for suitable sites.

Agreement between the state and the local authority will then trigger a 3 year period during which the selected

 

 scheme attracts state funding for planning and infrastructure (including public transport, energy, water, waste and utility strategies).

The central objective will be to create exemplar developments that genuinely meet Government aspirations for low carbon communities. Our appointment reflects our strong track record in UK eco-towns and sustainable urban extensions.
